short films
One of hardest things that I had to learn during my time at Boston University was to know how to condense my story and make it appealing to my audience. Short films have the power to tell you a story in less time than it would take you to make lunch. As fun and easy as that may seem, executing that in the midst of low budgets, unprofessional cast and crew, and a global pandemic was an experience. Regardless, I am proud of all the work that you are about to look at because all of these projects taught me something that theoretical knowledge alone could not.
in the name of love

Logline: When a fighting couple gets kidnapped, they are forced to deal with their problems and rescue themselves.
Director & Writer: Sanjana Kumar
Producer: Mallika Walavalkar
My first ever independent short film. This was an experience, both good and bad. During my screenwriting class in Spring 2019, I wrote this film as part of one of my assignments. It was well-received among my classmates and so I thought of pursuing it as a project of my own in the following summer. I learned a lot during this film: some of the lessons revolved around the importance of strong pre-production, how to deal with difficult actors and what professionalism means on set. All in all, I am very proud of the work that was put into the film and I loved seeing the final product.
